Integrative Therapies

Non-pharmaceutical options for easing pain, boosting recovery, and improving mobility.

Harnessing your pet’s natural ability to heal, recover, and relieve pain

Pain can affect every aspect of your pet’s life. Integrative therapies help reduce and relieve discomfort using the body’s natural healing processes—restoring mobility, comfort, and quality of life.

Laser therapy

Laser therapy—also known as “cold laser” or photobiomodulation—uses specific wavelengths of light to stimulate cellular activity. When applied to specific tissues or joints, laser therapy can increase circulation, reduce inflammation, remove harmful waste products, and accelerate healing.

Common applications include:

  • Osteoarthritis
  • Orthopedic and musculoskeletal conditions
  • Wound and incision healing
  • Soft tissue strains and sprains
  • Pain management and palliative care

Laser therapy is non-invasive and performed while your pet is awake. However, light sedation may be necessary for anxious or painful pets. The frequency of laser treatments will depend on your pet’s condition.

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections

PRP uses your pet’s own cells to stimulate tissue repair and healing, improve comfort, and reduce inflammation. After collecting a blood sample, the components are separated to produce a concentrated platelet and growth-factor injection, which is injected into the injured joint, ligament, or tendon.

PRP uses include:

  • Osteoarthritis
  • Orthopedic injuries (hip dysplasia, cranial cruciate ligament injury)
  • Mobility support

Improvement may be noted in as little as a few weeks. When combined with other therapies, benefits can last up to several months.
