Dental cleaning
The dental cleaning, or comprehensive oral health assessment and treatment (COHAT), is performed under anesthesia to ensure your pet’s comfort and safety. It includes:
- Oral cavity exam
- Full-mouth dental X-rays
- Scaling and polishing of the teeth
- Removal of plaque and tartar below the gumline
If your pet’s exam or dental X-rays reveal deeper conditions, the veterinarian will contact you during the procedure to discuss further treatment.
Advanced oral procedures
Pets with advanced periodontal disease, dental injury, and oral or congenital conditions may require surgical repair or intervention. Depending on severity, this may be performed during the COHAT or as part of a separate, staged procedure.

- Tooth extraction (removal)

Although there is always some risk associated with anesthesia, we take every precaution to ensure your pet’s safety and comfort.
