Emergency Care & Recovery
Our hospital is equipped to help pets fully recover from a traumatic injury or illness. If your pet must stay at our hospital long-term to recover, we closely monitor their systems to ensure their stability and improvement over time.
We monitor the following vital signs for all pets in recovery:
- Pain level
- Temperature
- Weight
- Hydration
- Heart function
- Pulse
- If indicated, we may also monitor blood oxygen content.
Depending on your pet’s condition, we may also need to provide advanced in-hospital treatment such as:
- Climate control
- Warmed cages
- Oxygen enrichment
- IV fluid pumps
We understand that it can be worrisome not seeing your pet every day and knowing they may not feel well. To help with this, we allow hospital visitation. Visiting your pet in the hospital can help assure you that your pet is being well cared for, and is on the road to recovery. It may even lift the spirits of your pet during their stay!
